I've not done this, but have often thought I should in some cases.... how do you pull the fingers out of those square connector housings?

Just to be clear -- it ended up being not the pin on the monitor board, but
the 'finger' inside the plastic connector housing that was dirty. SO, I
pulled each one from the connector houseing and clean those.
