touched the black wire to the case (ground) and red to the transistor
outside. My tester had tone for about 1 second until it faded away rather
quickly. It did that to all 4 transistors.
Does your meter have a diode test mode on it? It is normal for chasis
transistors to show continuity (or tone ) in your case for about 1/2 second before
it shows resistance.
