You can't use a TMS2716 to replace standard 2716s. The TMS2716
requires -5 and +12 to work - they were an upgrade for the 2708 and
that direction was dropped eventually by TI. You CAN use a TMS2516 -
that is the same electrically as a regular 2716.

In a pinch you can always use a 2532 - if you can't find a good 2716,
just burn the 2716 image on both the low and high sections of the
2532. This process has been discussed before - google the procedure
if you don't know.
