Andre,

If you crank up the brightness on any vector monitor it will over ride the
spot killer and give you the dot. Don't run it long that way or you'll ruin
the phosphor inside the tube. Most likely when you get a working board in
there you'll need to crank down the brightness. The PAT is a quick way to
check for RAM and ROM issues but it gets pretty involved if it goes beyond
that.
