Amazing how long the software trial lasts if the clock is off.

Swapping to a larger eprom is possible. Keeping the pinouts and voltages
straight is the main key. Speed of the eprom is also important. You can go
faster but not slower. I attached a comparison sheet that shows some common
ones. Some boards are set up for various jumpers to swap from one eprom to
another.
