Got it playing finally...went through all 3 boards,
pulled out ram. Put a socket on my asteroids deluxe
and tested every piece, and one was bad on that board.
Now it plays blind.
I can hear firing, thrust and bouncing on the walls,
but no music. Have replaced all socketed chips on the
daughterboard but nothing..but thats least of my
worries right now..an easy fix I am sure.
Anyways, I STILL have that odd looking line in the
center of screen..and can see things moving..I am
convinced it is a compressed image. I have replaced
everything from the video section from the pots back
to the gold dacs and that hasn't done anything. So I'm
wondering if I am missing something in the monitor
cable...
Can someone who has one of these check and see if ALL
positions have a wire? I have one blank spot that goes
to the black wire to the deflection pcb. If there is
supposed to be a wire there, can you see where it goes
to the edge connector?
On my edge connector I have from one end 3 white wires
at positions 2,3,4, then green at 8, blue at 10,
orange at 11.
These colors don't seem to match the blurry schematic
I downlaoded which I cannot make heads or tails of
anyways for this one... I'm almost there on this thing
and would really appreciate if someone could take a peek...
