You'll likely get 20 different answers, but mine is a Pocket Programmer II
and I've burned loads of 2716 PROMs. It's not terribly expensive, gets
the software updated from time to time and is easy to use.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an EPROM programmer [assuming I can find the 2716 chips to use]? I assume that the programmer would be able to read a good chip, save it to disk, and then write it back to a fresh ROM?
