So.... Do CRT's generally have the same standard pinouts and electrical characteristics then ?

I'm also very curious about convergence / shunt magnets and such.... I'm a noob to all of this too.. hence the silly questions.....

Cheers, Colin

  Hey James,

That's the tube I was going to attempt this on (U2000). Could you send me a picture of your shunt job. I'm new at the convergence thing (having only done 6100 before), and I'm interested in your placement method.

It would be great if we could get a definitive method as to how to do this on the Vectorlist. -Malcolm

You can go either way, (AMP or 6100 parts) but be prepared to
desolder/swap out the neck connector if using 6100 def board/HV cage.
Amplifone is preferred as it does a better job keeping up with SW.

I ended up using a tube from a WG U2000/5000 convergence was tough,
but when looking at pics of an original 25" in a SW CP, it seems that
even original 25" Amp tubes have about 50 magnetic shunts ;-)

Scott Evans sent me an original 25" Amp yoke a while back- the part
number on the yoke is not the same, but in terms of shape, windings,
it's identical to a 6100 yoke... and was no easier to converge than
having already tried a standard 6100 yoke....
