Re: Can a Tempest transformer power block be used with a 19V2000?

The 19v2000 expects +38v and -39v unregulated DC past the bridge rectifier
to the transistors... this would be 5-10v lower using a tempest brick

I think that the monitor would work, but its not a 100% real test of the
monitor, that 10vAC difference on the input might let the 19v2000 work, but
you might get problems crop up when in a real cab runing at the higher
voltage...

IIRR i have worked on G05's using a colour vector brick to get them working,
but it was a long time ago. It was either that, or the other way round.. I
seem to remember i knew that it wassn't a 100% test, but it was good enough
to replace the stuff that smoked/exploded and got a picture, then the
monitor went into a cab for proper burn testing.

In my rig at home i have a Battlezone power brick for G05/19v2000's, and a
seperate 24vCT transformer to do 6100 with my wico XY pattern
generator.(yes, thats 48vac not 50vac as per spec, but its so damn close its
fine.)

good luck..
