Well, like I said, if the originals are 600 and 1000 volts and the replacement
is 1500 volts there shouldn't be any problems. What you DON'T want to do is put
a slow rectifier like a 1N4007 in there. Though one guy on the group here had a
1N400x series part work as a damper (not a good idea, but a damper doesn't need
to turn off as fast), using one of these for rectification on a flyback winding
demands a fast turn-off device, which the ECG/NTE/SK part numbers given are.
