The hourglass shape is due to WG6100 and Ampliphone tube having different
curvatures.

Clay Cowgill makes a signal adaptor that straightens the curves. You can see
it at http://www.multigame.com/display.html

As for the imbalance, if you center the image on the tube face it should
disappear.
