Ampliphone help

Hi,

I am fixing a Atari blue HV board. There are no diodes or resistors at the
reg's on this board. I am using it in a Quantum so I installed the diodes
but not the resistors. I installed a Wintron Transformer, replaced the
MPSU07 and the 2n3904's. Checked all the resistors and installed a new
BU406D.

The problem is it's blowing the 24v regs as soon as it's turned on. After
installing new reg's with the BU406d removed I am getting 24.97v and -25.06v
at the regs. But as soon as I put the BU back in the regs are blowing.

How should the BU406D test out of circuit? I believe the HV repair guide
is with the transistor installed in the board.

What else could be the problem. I have a working HV board and have switched
out the red can and transformer and they work in the other board. Is it
possible that I installed the red can backwards? ( If it matters)

  Any help would be apperciated.

  Frank
