ooh I tried shorting the big resistor that gets terrible hot with a bit
of wire (I'm told the resistor can be removed) - the wire (heavy hire)
got rather warm and I lost the picture till I removed it (the tube was
still illuminated and flickering with defused light though!) - didn't
like that much :(
