You would NOT see a degaussing effect. It happens quickly before you would see
a picture. It makes the sound of a "buzz" or hum when you first power the
monitor..
If your convinced the yoke did not move then find someone who has a degaussing
coil to help you out. When you moved those other rings you may have disturbed
the purity rings otherwise It sounds like your yoke moved forward slightly.
Loosen the yoke lock and pull the yoke back slightly also straighten the
picture while your doing this.
