Asteroids diagonal "jump" ???

Hello,

     I just about have the Asteroids board that has given me so much troubles
fixed. One last small problem - ONLY in cocktail mode, when the screen is
inverted for player 2, I'm seeing small distortions on digonal lines. The
distortions seem to vary depending on the area of the screen, and are more
pronounced in certain areas. Look at the "N"'s in the high score screen on
the pic below. These show in both gameplay AND high score mode, but ONLY when
the screen is inverted for player 2. This problem is NOT monitor related.

     I know, "put the damn board in an UR machine where the problem will
never show up..." However, I want to get it 100% fixed. This board is the
one that had the "sonic" speedmod daughtercard. I want to put the card back
on the board when I get the board done.
     Why would this problem only show in P2 mode on an inverted screen? Also,
this board had ALOT of troubles (state machine, clock, VSM counter, ram,
etc.. etc..) that I had to fix. Could the speedmod daughtercard that was on
the board cause more parts to fail?
