So what is the deal with Amplifones in Space Duel? I know the manual
mentions that it was an option (so does Gravitar IIRC) but I've never
seen one with anything other than a WG.

All of the Atari boards used two 1495 analog multipliers to do the
pincushioning compensation for use with the Wells Gardner monitor.
For the Major Havoc kits, the daughter board had the 1495s because
(of course) the main board didn't (since the dedicated used an Amplifone).

Wouldn't you get some weird effect using a board with the 1495 multipliers
at the same time as using an Amplifone which had built in compensation?

Anyway, just curious.
