You'll have to excuse my crappy camera. It's an old serial port VGA Polaroid.

This is with the brightness turned all the way up. I observed some flickering and electron scatter during specific moments, such as the TEMPEST logo fly-in and attract screen changes. The effect takes place over the left side of the screen, with the right side totally black. As you can see from the pics, as the screens change, the pattern changes slightly, getting brighter as certain events take place. Picture 2 was taken during the TEMPEST fly-in. The markings you see on the tube are phosphor burn.

Any ideas? It appears that the beam is shooting offscreen. But why?

Thanks- Brian
