Yeah, it's only an issue if you are going the other way though (AD->A). You

One thing I *did* have to do to my Asteroids board (to use it in the A
cabaret cab) was to modify the input chip (desolder, swap pins, insert into
a socket for future replacement). Since the cabaret cabinet is very shallow,
there really isn't any room to make an adapter harness to take care of the
reversed inputs (left is right, right is left).

Mark Shostak came up with a software modification that only requires three
new EPROMs. That software feature isn't yet supported in Scott's multigame
so I resorted to the hardware MOD.
