19V2000 problem

The 19V2000 vector monitor in my Asteroids cab has a minor (but irritating)
display problem where the display slightly 'pulses' larger and smaller by
perhaps two or three millimetres, it varies.

The problem is more prevalent if there is flashing text on the screen (such
as the flashing PUSH START) or if there is a lot of onscreen activity such
as a load of larger asteroids floating about.

In test mode the display barely 'pulses' at all.

Surely this isn't likely to be an HV diode problem as doesn't that cause
'blooming', ie the display just keeps getting larger and larger - this is
not the case here.

Also, can an H1802 diode be used in this monitor (as opposed to an H1809 or
H1812) ?

I can't find any exact reference to this specific problem either on the
'net or in the black and white vector monitor FAQ.

Thanks,
Phil
