Right. Unfortunately I've established that the final output drive
transistors are fine. My problem seems to be early in the amp stages,
after the X width pot but well before the main output predriver.
Something appears to be dragging the positive side down so I get
negative deflection on the X axis but not positive. Y axis is fine so
it's definitely not the +25V rail being out.

In reference to John's suggestions, I've been probing around with this
scope, with and without the HV and deflection coils disconnected at
various times (since I got the HV section rebuilt and running)... the
real problem is that I currently have no molex extension wire rigged up
to get the monitor up onto the bench while it's juiced up. Therefore
I've been doing most of my work with the screen hooked up and propped on
a box right behind the game cab. It really gets kind of tiring kneeling
behind the game craned around trying to get around the damn picture tube
with the probes. Gotta make up a molex power extender... data cable is
the same pin count as an IDE, right?

This is a new experience for me, having such a rough time on a single
game... I've done dozens of raster monitors and kept my Tempest and a
friend's Star Wars going over the years, but I have to say,
Cinematronics has introduced me to a whole new world of frustration!!!!
Playing Armor Attack is gonna be sweet as hell once this is done...
