Cool... That is an odd little fault !!  Btw Guys...   I just tried the HV unit and Glass Jar trick that Andy tried the other week.  I cannot get to a working machine to test at the moment and have promised it to someone. This was a G05-802 HV unit.  I gave it 40 VDC from a Bench Power Supply (20v + 20V). The Electrode was too big to go in the neck of the Bottle/Jar, but hooked nicely on the Lip and I secured with Electrical Tape round the Neck.. It's not going anywhere !! Switched on and measured 11.75 KVDC on Electrode, 400 VDC on Pin 3, 40 VDC Pin 1 (Hi Z) , 90 VDC Pin 5.   I'd say that works !! I didn't recieve any wisdom on this fault from the vectorlist... i'm thinking of cancelling my subscription fee payment... booo hehe. Anyway, i fixed it.. it has taken me waaay too long to find this, at least a day and a half. Turned out to be  shorted CR10 diode, something you just don't expect as its how the spot killer samples the x deflection, i just wasn't looking in that area...
