IMHO, the bigger issue is the software, not the hardware.

I have mine running in DOS and it runs great.

Loads quickly, I can turn it off without any corruption to the OS.

Up and in the menu in less than 15 seconds.

To get back on target, I think the proper answer to the future of a new ZVG would be to come up with modern hardware and software. The current solution is designed around a dead platform from both sides.

My opinion is, if you have existing hardware, there are ways to make it work. The board has obsolete parts on it so it's future isn't in recreating it as-is, but in starting over.
