Re: Cross reference MC1495

I tested the chips on a working Tempest. I pulled 3 working 1495's one at a
time and tested the Russian equivalents. If your pot adjustment was to the
right of screen with the 1495, insert the KP, screen would be adjusted to
the left. If your pot adjustment was slightly to the top of the screen,
insert a KP, screen would be adjusted slightly to the bottom. On the 3rd
1495-pull it and insert a KP in it's place and the text was reversed. Not
only did it reverse these, but it also reversed the screen orientation to
upside down.
I just pulled all of them out, reinserted the 1495's and everythings' back
to normal. Very strange 'equivalents'.

Yeh, i've not had any problems with Russian chips, they are functional
equivalents for a reason, they're direct copies most of the time. The
pin1 identifier is not as obvious as western ic's, but not impossible to
work out.

You mentioned mirroring, are you plugging these chips into an otherwise
known-working pcb? are you sure you don't have a problem in your X flip
circuits? (asteroids deluxe, battlezone)

which game are you plugging them into?
