Oh man Star Castle!  I have been on the hunt for a Star Castle cabinet for while.  This might be the next best thing.   Is there a link you can share with more info on the Vex project and to get on the waiting list?  I have a Space Duel machine I'd convert.  What's the process to convert a cabinet to run Vex?  Does Vex work with color and monochrome vector monitors?    Cheers!   Carlos ________________________________ From: Neil Bradley <nb_at_synthcom.com> To: "vectorlist_at_vectorlist.org" <vectorlist_at_vectorlist.org> Sent: Friday, June 28, 2013 5:48 PM Subject: RE: VECTOR: Staus and availability of Asteroids / Deluxe multigame? > Nope...this was never officially released.  I was one of the fortunate few > who were offered prototype kits for beta-testing purposes.  It is an > outstanding kit that I cherish to this day. > > I did correspond with Scott just a couple of weeks back and he said that > there were still some minor sound issues to work out with the kit for AD > (Asteroids is fine...that's the one I have). > > But he also said that family just keeps him too busy (4 kids :) ) to get > much done on it. > > Maybe someday... > > But Clay is working on a multivector kit that might do the trick for you... Yep - the software is mostly done. Clay and I did a hardware summit for the last couple of weekends and got the vector generator going, and he's busy working on the final hardware. Note that the code compiles and runs under Windows *AND* the actual hardware itself. Today it runs and toggles the bits on a developer's board, but only Clay has the analog section debugged/populated, so what you see here is what the board will do. This is a visual description of the service mode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHZPNathJj8 If you want to see the initial game list to be supported, pause the video above at 4:30. ;-) Here's a shot of the board drawing on a scope for the first time (after we got the bugs out of the VG code, that is): http://www.synthcom.com/~nb/vector.png -->Neil ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- C.
