after much digging though my datasheets,
the closest i can find is tip31c & tip41c

the pinout is slightly different but it is an easy mod,
the ratings are all way higher other than the frequency.
the tip31c is 3Mhz minimum - datasheets give no maximum.
mpsu57 is 100Mhz.

maybe someone on the list can give a view as to the maximum frequency the scancoils run at - i doubt the tip31c would have a problem.

if they do work, digikey sell's them for under a $.
just dont forget to insulate them when you put them on the heatsinks
